Deepthi Bhavan Kovvur is the first convent in Andhra and Telangana region. Sr. Philo Maria Olickal, Sr. Rosily Panthalady, Sr.Maria Mangalam were the first missionaries to Andhra Pradesh from the mother province Thalassery, who could bravely withstand the extreme climate and culture of Andhra and began their service in the field of education in collaboration with capuchin Fathers and started to work in Deepthi English medium School Kovuru. In the preliminary stage they had taken a lot of risk to learn the local language, and started to render their service in various fields like teaching, social work, family visit, preparing for Holy Communion, marriage counseling course etc. On 8th February 2003 we celebrated the Silver Jubilee of Deepthi Bhavan at Kovvur and thanked God for His choicest blessings upon our first community .At present Deepthy Bhavan Kovvur stands as a lovely home for the girls of the West Godavari district who benefit from social welfare funds provided by the government of Andhra Pradesh. 26th June 2016 was a remarkable day in the history of renovated Deepthi Bhavan, as it was marked by the great event of its blessing by most Rev.
