Mary Shantal Adoration Convent, yerrupalem (2006)

Accepting the invitation of Most Rev. Paul Maipan, the Bishop of Khammam, two of our sisters started social work at Yerrupalem on December 6th 2006 in a rented house. Later we constructed a convent to carry out the specific mission. Our mission at Yerrupalem is to serve the poorest of the poor and marginalized in the society through social work and evangelization. The first members of this house were Sr. Vijaya Mary Kochupurackal & Sr. Renet Padinjaremuriyil. They were also asked to look after the girls in the free boarding, which is sponsored by bishop of Khammam for three years. Our sisters provide social awareness programmes through SHG [Self help groups] under Khammam Dioceses. We also started an old age home at Yerupalam -“Karuna Nivas” for the abandoned and destitute woman in 2015.
